Fortunately, it seems our politicians are beginning to take notice. The upcoming Data Bill is set to transform data rights by granting new powers to ministers, enabling Open Banking-like connections throughout the economy, anchored in consumer consent and regulatory safety. However, the Data Bill alone merely equips policymakers with the necessary tools. They need to act on them – and for Open Finance, this entails the new City Minister Emma Reynolds implementing new regulations as quickly as possible.
