Millions of households in one state will get Stimulus Checks of up to $1,050 to help with the high cost of gasoline and other things.

The payments to Californians will be issued following a joint declaration between legislative leaders and Governor Gavin Newsom on the state budget for 2022–2023, the governor’s office said on Sunday.

The idea would utilize a piece of California’s record-breaking $97 billion budget surplus to return money to taxpayers.

23 million Californians will get payments totaling up to $1,050 as part of a $17 billion “inflation relief” scheme, according to a news release from Newsom’s office. The agreement provided for larger direct payments for those with dependents and lower earnings.

Are You Eligible For The $1050 Stimulus Check?

Stimulus Checks will total $350 for couples making less than $150,000 yearly and $75,000 for individuals, with an extra $350 if they have at least one dependant.

So, a married couple with one child who earns less than $150,000 a year would receive a $1,050 Stimulus Check. With an extra $250 for dependents, couples and people making less than $125,000 yearly would receive $250 each.

Couples and people making less than $500,000 yearly would get $200 each, with an extra $200 for dependents. The plan also includes increased funds to help Californians pay their rent and energy bills as well as a delay of the state’s diesel sales tax. It has also contributed $200 million to reproductive health care services in the wake of the Supreme Court’s startling decision on Friday, which overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark 1973 ruling that had established a constitutional right to abortion.

Prior to lawmakers rejecting his Stimulus Check proposal, Newsom had proposed giving $400 rebates to registered automobile owners as a way to offset rising gas prices.
