French President Emmanuel Macron has organized an “emergency meeting” for European heads of state to address matters pertaining to President Donald Trump, as reported by a European official.
Politico notes that Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski hinted at this meeting during the Munich Security Conference on Saturday. Two EU officials informed the outlet that the gathering is scheduled for Monday.
“I am pleased that President Macron has summoned our leaders to Paris,” Sikorski stated, emphasizing that the discussions will focus on the ramifications of Trump’s actions “in a very serious manner.”
“President Trump operates in a way the Russians describe as razvedka boyem – reconnaissance through battle. You apply pressure to see the response, then adjust your stance… And we must react,” the Polish minister remarked.

Sikorski has previously been vocal about American politics. He once drew a comparison between President Biden’s lackluster debate performance and the fall of ancient Rome, and had stated on MSNBC that Trump was “right” regarding NATO countries needing to increase their defense spending.
Since Trump’s election, Macron has maintained a cordial relationship. In a post on X, he expressed eagerness to collaborate with the president-elect.
“Congratulations, President @realDonaldTrump,” Macron wrote. “I look forward to working together as we did for four years. With your beliefs and mine. With respect and ambition. For greater peace and prosperity.”
