Laura Barron-Lopez:
The brief answer is no. We have continually asked the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the White House for a comprehensive list of all the migrants, but have received no response.
While CBS managed to obtain a list, Homeland Security has not provided us with any details regarding these migrants. During a court appearance today, ACLU’s lead attorney, Lee Gelernt, revealed that they might soon file sworn declarations indicating that some of the migrants sent to El Salvador were returned because they were women or did not have ties to El Salvador or Venezuela.
He anticipates submitting those sworn declarations in the days ahead. When President Trump was asked about emerging evidence that some of these migrants seem to have no connection to Tren de Aragua, he responded accordingly.
Donald Trump, President of the United States: I was informed that they underwent a rigorous vetting process, which will continue in El Salvador. If anything comes up, we certainly want to know.
But this was a problematic group. This was a problematic group.
