The date for release of season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty is set for July 14 of 2023. This Amazon Originals drama series was first released in the show’s first season in June of 2022 with seven episodes. The Summer I Turned Pretty is based on the best-selling novel of the same title by Jenny Han. While the story narrates the romantic triangle of a young girl named Isabel Conklin, played by Lola Tung, who has fallen for both brothers Jeremiah and Conrad Fisher, played by Gavin Casalegno and Christopher Briney respectively. 

Season 2 of this drama series has eight episodes and narrates the story after the debutante ball in the episode seven Summer Love of season one. This series is the first part of the trilogy of novels by Jenny Han, the other novels are It’s Not Summer Without You and We’ll Always Have Summer published in 2010 and 2011 respectively. Regarding the creation of the drama series, Jenny Han in an interview with People back in 2022 had stated that there had been a growing interest in her novel but she had always refused any attempts for production, as she herself wished to create the show, the way she had imagined the story.

The Summer I Turned Pretty Had A Positive Reception

When The Summer I Turned Pretty was released in June of 2022, critical response to the show was mostly positive. Both Vanity Fair’s Delia Cai and The Hollywood Reporter’s Angie Han had given overwhelmingly positive reviews of the drama series. Angie Han had described The Summer I Turned Pretty as a show with a coming-of-age plot. Fans of the show eagerly await for the new season, and will be able to stream it on Amazon Prime Videos.
