Jackie Bradley Jr. is all set to sign for Milwaukee Brewers. The contract is set to be for two years and will cost the Brewers $24 million. It will also include a clause for the first year that would let Bradley opt-out should he choose to do so.

This is the first team he will be playing for a team besides the Boston Red Sox. He had been drafted by the team as the 40th overall, eight seasons ago. Aged 30, he is an accomplished center fielder, having won the Gold Glove award in the season of 2018. So far, he was with the Red Sox for a one-year contract with a value of $11 million.

The Effect Of Jackie Bradley Jr.’s Move

In the American League Championship Series, he had been the MVP for the 2018 series where his team faced Houston. In 2016, he was an All-Star. His batting figures are not too bad, having 98 home runs and 376 RBIs.

The signing of Jackie Bradley Jr. is another addition to the defensive line-up of the Brewers. The Brewers also have two-time Gold Glove winner Kolten Wong, as well as the winner of the award in 2019, Lorenzo Cain. As it stands, Milwaukee has an over-saturation of starting players in the center field.

The departure of Jackie Bradley Jr. also means that the Red Sox have now lost all of the players that had started for them in the 2018 World Series-winning team. Bradley had also been with them when they had won the 2013 championship.

Alex Cora, manager of Red Sox, was all praises for the departing Jackie Bradley Jr. He called himself a fan of his and ensured that he will keep on following Bradley, both on the field and personally.

The Milwaukee Brewers are attempting to reach the playoffs for a consecutive fourth time. Last year, they had lost in the opening round of the playoffs to eventual champions Los Angeles Dodgers.
