According to two officials from the EU, the meeting is scheduled for Monday.
It remains uncertain whether the meeting will include all EU leaders or just a select group of nations, and if other European figures, such as U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer, will also receive invitations.
A spokesperson from France was unable to provide an immediate comment. French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot, who participated in a panel with Sikorski in Munich, did not confirm or deny the occurrence of the emergency summit.
Sikorski later announced that Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk will be attending the meeting on Monday at the invitation of Macron. “We must demonstrate our strength and unity,” Sikorski stated in a social media post.
