Maroon 5: Solo Adam Levine smokes, calls for end to war on marijuana in ‘Nobody’s Love’ video

Adam Levine from the band Maroon 5 released a new single ‘Nobody’s Love’ on the band’s Instagram page. This is a follow up to their hit single “Memories”.

In the David Dobkin directed video, we can see Adam Levine sitting alone in his yard at night near a lemon tree. He’s rolling a marijuana joint with a glass of red wine. In the song about holding onto love, he sings “Hit me like a drug and I can’t stop it/ Fit me like a glove and I can’t knock it/ I ain’t even lying.”

The video ends with a quote attributed to the ACLU. “It’s time to end the War on Marijuana. The aggressive enforcement of marijuana possession laws needlessly ensnares hundreds of thousands of people into the criminal justice system and wastes billions of taxpayers’ dollars,” the quote reads.

It calls out the police departments who have been operating on racial bias and have failed to reduce marijuana use and availability and diverted resources that could be better invested in the well being of different communities. In a statement, the band and Interscope Records said they would be making a donation to the ACLU of Southern California.
