Leslie Van Houten was released from prison on July 11 after 53 years in prison. Leslie Van Houten was only 19 years old when she was arrested for her involvement in the dual murder of the LaBianca couple. In the late 1960s, Charles Manson, who was a musician, had started a cult based in California, and he and his followers, like Leslie Van Houten had carried out a series of crimes and murders.
Van Houten was released from the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation of California, where she served 53 years in prison for her involvement in the murders of Leno And Rosemary LaBianca back on August 10 of 1969. Both Leno and Rosemary were stabbed to death, by Van Houten along with another accomplice at the direction of Charles Manson, who himself was not present at the murder.
In an interview with ABC News back in 1994, Van Houten had given the details of the LaBianca murders, stating that Leno was taken to the bedroom by her accomplice, where he was stabbed and blood-curdling screams could be heard as she held Rosemary. The term war was carved on Leno’s stomach while Van Houten stabbed Rosemary 16 times in the lower back.
Leslie Van Houten Is In Transitional Living Facility
As stated by the attorney for Leslie Van Houten, she is presently in a transitional icing facility. Gavin Newsom, Governor of California had informed that he would not block the parole of Leslie Van Houten by directing so to the California Supreme Court. Van Houten is now 73 years old and will remain under parole supervision for a maximum of three years of parole term, and a parole discharge review will be done every year.
