Paritosh Bansal, the global finance and markets editor at Reuters, shared the following announcement:
Dear colleagues,
I am thrilled to announce that Dawn Kopecki has joined Reuters as the editor for our corporate finance coverage in the Americas, including ESG, and will report directly to me. Dawn started today in Washington, D.C. and plans to relocate to New York in the upcoming months.
With nearly 30 years of experience in editing and reporting, Dawn is a valuable addition to Reuters. For the past nine years, she has led teams that addressed a wide range of topics such as markets, corporate news, natural disasters, oil markets, geopolitics, U.S. politics, and the Covid-19 pandemic at organizations including the San Antonio Express-News, CNBC, and The Messenger.
Before her editorial roles, Dawn had a remarkable reporting career, breaking numerous stories related to the federal government’s response to the 9/11 attacks, the 2008 financial crisis, and various Wall Street accounting and trading scandals for Dow Jones, the Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg, and Businessweek. She was part of the Bloomberg team that earned a finalist position for the 2012 Gerald Loeb award and was recognized by the Foreign Press Association for their reporting on JPMorgan’s London Whale trading debacle. Additionally, she received a 2014 Silurians Merit Award for Public Service Magazine Writing for her exposé on junior bankers on Wall Street.
Dawn has interviewed some of the most prominent bankers on Wall Street for various magazine features and has frequently contributed to Bloomberg TV, appearing numerous times on PBS Newshour, NPR’s Marketplace, CNBC, and C-SPAN’s Washington Journal.
She currently practices yoga at Flow Yoga Center, Bright Bear Yoga, and Luneh Yoga in Washington, D.C., but is excited about returning to studios and making her third move to NYC in the months ahead.
Please join me in welcoming Dawn to the Reuters team.
Best regards, Paritosh
