$400 Gas Stimulus Check For Californians

Americans are demanding stimulus checks due to the soaring gas prices.

While gas prices have dropped slightly in the last week, they are still $1.28 more than what it was a year ago, according to AAA, with a national average of $4.15 per gallon.

Some state and federal officials are looking for methods to alleviate the pain at the pump amid fears that increasing costs could affect consumers’ wallets. The Gas Rebate Act of 2022, proposed by U.S. Reps. Mike Thompson (D-California), John Larson (D-Connecticut), and Lauren Underwood (D-Illinois) would deliver monthly payments of $100 to Americans whose average gas price is more than $4 per gallon.

Californians Will Receive $400 As Stimulus Check

Democratic state politicians in California, the United States, are calling for a $400 tax refund check for taxpayers to aid with the growing cost of common commodities and services, such as petrol costs. Regardless of how much money they make, every Californian who pays state income taxes would receive a $400 Stimulus Check to help offset the effect of growing prices. A married couple would earn $800 if the tax money was distributed to individual taxpayers.

People earning more than $75,000 per year and couples earning more than $150,000 per year would see the Stimulus Check program phase down gradually. Individuals earning more than $80,000 per year and couples making more than $160,000 per year will see the program completely phased out. However, not everyone thinks that tax refunds reduce the economic effect of rising petrol costs. Stimulus Checks, according to Alex Muresianu of the Tax Foundation, may not alleviate the problem of post-pandemic supply limits and roiled oil markets caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
