President Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron are scheduled to hold a joint press conference at the White House on Monday, as Western Europe adapts to the United States’ evolving stance on Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.

Earlier in the day, Macron met with Trump in the Oval Office to participate in a conference call with leaders from the Group of Seven nations.

Trump later posted on Truth Social that every leader on the call expressed a wish to see the conflict in Ukraine come to an end.

He further noted, “I stressed the importance of the crucial ‘Critical Minerals and Rare-Earths Deal’ between the United States and Ukraine, which we are optimistic will be finalized very soon!”

Additionally, he mentioned ongoing discussions with Russian President Vladimir Putin regarding the war and “significant Economic Development projects that will occur between the United States and Russia.”
