On Monday, entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy received endorsements from President Donald Trump and billionaire Elon Musk as he enters the race for governor of Ohio.
Ramaswamy, who previously ran against Trump in the 2024 GOP presidential primary, declared his candidacy earlier that day to succeed term-limited Republican Gov. Mike DeWine in the 2026 election.
Trump shared his endorsement through a post on his social media platform, Truth Social.

“VIVEK RAMASWAMY is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio. I know him well, competed against him, and he is something SPECIAL,” Trump stated.
“He’s Young, Strong, and Smart! Vivek is also a very good person, who truly loves our Country,” he added. “He will be a GREAT Governor of Ohio, will never let you down, and has my COMPLETE AND TOTAL ENDORSEMENT!”
Shortly thereafter, Musk, an advisor to Trump, also expressed his support for Ramaswamy.

“Does that seem unrealistic? It isn’t,” he remarked. “Not long ago, Ohio was a model state. Nowadays, young people joke about it, saying ‘that’s so Ohio.’ Yet, less than a century ago, people looked up to Ohio as a place to aspire to.”
At 39, Ramaswamy withdrew from the 2024 Republican presidential race to support Trump and act as his surrogate.
