Bobby Bowden, coach for the University of Florida has to face a new challenge. He was diagnosed with a severe health condition which his family shared on Wednesday.
Bobby Bowden who is 91 years old now, mentioned that he has served God and done his work for what he was sent, so he is prepared. Bowden chose not to talk about the details of his condition but he believes that he is at peace.
Bobby Bowden’s Illustrious Career
Bobby Bowden coached Florida University for 34 years and won 350 games winning the Championship in 1999 and one in 1993.
He had to retire from coaching in 2009 and became the second coach in rank with the highest number of wins. He became such a legend in the history of the NCAA First Division.
John Thrasher, the FS President was disappointed after hearing the news. He believes that Bowden has built the legacy of the FSU with class and dignity and was the model person to be adored by the fans and players. Thrasher shared that Bowden was not just unmatchable on the track but his accomplishments were visible outside the field, too.
David Coburn was the athletic director of the FSU and said that Bowden was everything for the State’s athletics. Bowden was influential, not only for the players but also for the staff of the FSU. Bowden had precisely managed his priorities and valued the virtues of honor and integrity.
Bobby Bowden went through a rough patch suffering from the virus and was helpful for the assistance of Dr. Forsthoefel. Bowden believed that the fight was extremely tough but the love of his wife, Ann, and his children helped him beat it. It was just 9 months after this infection that Bowden was diagnosed with this terminal illness.
