The friendship between Nikola Jokic and Aron Gordon is very real. Gordon flew to Prague to watch Jokic compete in the final round of group play at the FIBA EuroBasket 2022 tournament on Thursday. The two Nuggets teammates shared several moments after the game, and social media captured the best of them his experience, and why he made the trip.

How cool is that? It clearly shows how much respect Gordon has for Jokic. And how much Jokic appreciated his friend making the journey to surprise him. Jokic and Serbia were dominant in group play, finishing 5-0. Now they move on to the Round of 16, which is won or go home. Serbia will open with Italy on Sunday night with a spot in the quarterfinals on the line. That game will take place in berlin. Meanwhile, Jokic and Gordon will be back on the court as teammates as early as October 3 when the NBA preseason opens. Denver takes on Oklahoma City at Ball Arena that evening.

Nikola Jokic Considers Gordon As His Best-Friend

The brotherhood between Gordon and Jokic may have begun once they became teammates. Speaking on the trip and his motivation to visit Jokic, Gordon says “I just wanted to let him know that he is in the world. After he is done playing basketball and disappears, I’ll still be able to pull up on him” clearly touched by his words Nikola Jokic laughs it out.

Not only is chemistry important for teams that want to win a championship, but it attracts other players to the organization. Denver, leading the Western Conference at 42-18, may not need much help. But the mere fact that they would be a preferred destination in part because of locker room culture is nice to know.
