Joc Pederson was traded to the Braves by the Chicago-based team. He was replaced by Bryce Ball. As soon as the transfer market got underway, the Cubs were immediately seen active. This transfer meant that Pederson stayed with the Cubs for less than one year. He signed for Chicago just a year earlier.

Joc Pederson Joins Atlanta After Ending Stint With Chicago In Less Than A Year

The inclusion of Joc Pederson would be a welcome move for Atlanta. Pederson had earlier signed a contract of $7million with the Chicago Cubs. He spent his prime days with the Dodgers, where he got established as an athlete.

Joc appeared 73 times for the Cubs. He performed fairly well and had Homers & RBI’s of 11 & 39 respectively. The Braves had a void to fill. Their star performer Ronald Acuna Jr was out of the season. He is currently nursing a career-threatening Achilles tendon tear.

Pederson cannot match the caliber of Acuna but he will provide stability to the team. On the other hand, Pederson’s replacement for the Cubs will be Bryce Ball. He is known for his powerful defensive prowess. He is expected to take the team to new heights.

Following Joc Pederson’s trade, the Cubs are also expected to make other transfers. The possibility of Kris Bryant being traded is highly speculated. Rumors are so high that Bryant was asked this question in a live interview a few days back. He was the MVP for the Cubs formerly. Anthony Rizzo & Javier Baez will also be released after their ongoing tenure.
