The Golden State Warriors are at 14-2 and have the NBA’s best record, so far. Klay Thompson, who hasn’t played since the 2019 NBA Finals due to Achilles and ACL injuries, has been cleared to return to practice as a full participant. If all goes well, Klay Thompson could reportedly return just before Christmas.
Steve Kerr stated that he has played 5-on-5 on Monday and might do the same on Wednesday. He got good reports and intends to keep going. He was absent for 2 years so needs a lot of work on his part. It is great that he is playing five-on-five but that does not mean he will step on the floor next week.
Klay Thompson Has His Teammates Excited For His Return
Needless to say, Thompson’s teammates are extremely excited about his pending return after two years away from the game.
Draymond Green stated that the news was huge from a mental standpoint. Everyone was looking forward to getting him back as they know what he offers to the team. No one is expecting him to be Klay Thompson of 2018 right from the start but they’re looking forward to him.
In addition to Thompson, Kerr also provided an update on second-year big man James Wiseman, who has been sidelined since April with a knee injury.
A month into the season, the Warriors have already established themselves as one of the league’s best teams on both ends of the floor. The return of Klay Thompson and Wiseman should only work to make them deeper and more dangerous.
