It’s Michael K. Williams’s final film. His demise was quite shocking for everyone. His uncertain death left many mums. He was 54 years old in 2021 when he died. Wright felt it was an honorable moment for her. She would cherish this moment forever. Working with Michael K. Williams was always on her bucket list. It saddens her how much void he has left in the industry. It’s been unfathomable to some to imagine his death at such a young age.

The director of Surrounded, Anthony Mandler, thought Michael K. Williams would be the perfect fit opposite of Letitia Wright and Jamie Bell.
They were on a Zoom call, and Anthony’s idea was suddenly pitched. Michael K was the best fit for the mysterious role.
Anthony texted Michael. And his immediate response was yes. He left everything he was doing. He wanted to be part of this badly. Letitia Wright mentioned his work ethic was everything someone would find in an incredible actor.
His energy was something else.
He and Letitia Wright were shooting in the cold desert. He said he was going to the Bahamas immediately after. And they bet.
After his death, Letitia Wright and other cast and crew members virtually reached his family. Everyone is in a different part of the world now due to work. Thus it is impossible for all of them to gather in one place. They all shared condolences with each other and his family members virtually.
