After being hurt during an altercation at Lollapalooza 2022 in Chicago this past weekend, Lil Durk has pledged to take a break from performing.
As seen in the fan-shot video, Durk was playing at the festival when a stage pyrotechnic seemed to explode in his face. The Chicago rapper continued performing at the festival, but he subsequently shared a photo from a hospital in which he was seen with his face and eye tightly bandaged. Durk posted on Instagram, “Due to the situation that transpired at Lollapalooza in Chicago on stage, I’ma take a vacation & focus on my health.” “I completed my show for my fans yesterday. I value you all.
Additional dates are expected in September and October, with Durk’s next performance slated for August 13 in Boston. Comment has been requested by The FADER. At Lollapalooza in Chicago, Lil Durk, who is up for three GRAMMYs, suffered injuries as a result of an explosion that occurred on stage.
The rapper was near the very front of the platform when a smoke explosion happened right next to him, as seen in the incident’s video (which can be seen here). Durk turned away from the fire right quickly and put his shirt over his face.
Durk shared a snapshot from the hospital on Sunday, July 31, in which a large bandage is covering his eye.

Durk was reportedly halfway through his performance when the incident took place, according to reports. It is unclear whether the explosion was intentional and Durk merely drew too near to it, or if it happened by mistake.
