Former President Jimmy Carter, who has served as the 39th President of the United States of America, is celebrating 77th wedding anniversary with wife and former First Lady of the US, Rosalynn Carter. President Jimmy Carter had married Rosalynn in 1946 after he had graduated from the Naval Academy of the United States. The marriage and this 77th anniversary of President Jimmy Carter and Rosalynn Carter, marks as the longest US Presidential marriage in history. 

Rosalynn And Jimmy met each other in Georgia, when Jimmy’s sister had set up a date for them. Much to their knowledge, did they know that they will one day become the first couple of the US. Rosalynn Carter, while being the First Lady, is also an eminent writer, writing books such as First Lady from Plains. She also advocated and voiced the issues of mental health and mental illness, Rosalynn wrote books such as Helping Someone with Mental Illness: A Compassionate Guide for Family, Friends, and Caregivers in collaboration with Susan K. Golant, among other works. Rosalynn Carter is also the longest-living First Lady at the age of 95, second only to Bess Truman.

Jimmy Carter was the President Of the United States from 1977 to 1981, and had shaped the nation with major bills. Jimmy Carter had implemented Executive Order, Proclamation 4483, which pardoned the evaders of the draft of the Vietnam War. As a Democratic President, Carter had to deal with the last quarter of the Cold War era with the USSR, and had signed a nuclear arms reduction treaty with Leonid Brezhnev. Rosalynn Carter played an active role in Carter’s presidency. Carter had run for presidency for a second time, however had lost to Ronald Reagan, who succeeded Carter as the 40th President of the United States.
