Amid their tumultuous relationship, Aaron Carter and Melanie Martin lost custody of their 9-month-old baby Prince. Before a court date later this month, Carter disclosed in a recent interview with The Sun that he had willingly entered a recovery program.

In a video, Carter stated that “helping with the weed” was the primary motivation for enrolling. He said, “I don’t need to or want to smoke pot anymore.

As ordered by the court due to drug and domestic abuse concerns, Prince is currently detained with Martin’s mother.

Aaron Carter continued that this will be his fifth time in treatment, but he hasn’t had any relapses; it’s just that triggers are really big for him now. He said he desired his son’s return.
