Chandler Jones Goes After Adam Schefter And Robert Griffin III

Chandler Jones

Raiders’ leading pass rusher Chandler Jones has renewed concerns for his health as he lashed out at NFL quarterback Robert Griffin and also Adam Schefter, the NFL analyst with ESPN.

Griffin was recently on social media asking his fans to pray for Chandler Jones’ health. This comes after Chandler Jones sent a bizarre video. Jones reacted to Robert Griffin’s post with a comment on social media, that was later deleted. He dismissed Griffin as ‘washed up’ and told him to stand back. Chandler Jones also forwarded a post from ESPN’s Adam Schefter and sarcastically mocked him while declaring that he was perfectly well. He also mocked those who voiced concern about his mental health.

Chandler Jones Placed In The List Of Non-Football Illnesses By The Raiders

Chandler Jones has recently behaved erratically on various social media sites, triggering alarm about his well-being. In his recent bizarre post, which was live, he claimed that Josh McDaniels, the Raiders coach, was responsible for teammate Aaron Hernandez’s death. Jones also said that an unknown substance was forcibly injected into Hernandez by the LA Fire Dept. at a mental hospital. Hernandez committed suicide in jail in 2017 after he was convicted of murder.

Chandler has been absent from his team. The Raiders have been forced to move him to the list of those suffering from illnesses not related to football. That rules Jones out of the team indefinitely. NFL media people have expressed concerns at the development and even contacted Jones offering support.

But Jones has not appreciated the offers and has instead attacked those who have reached out to him. He asserts that he is fine and dismissed offers of any support. Chandler Jones’s situation indicates how disruptive mental health issues can be on the career of even leading players. Even athletes are vulnerable to psychiatric issues.
