Takumi Minamino helped Liverpool move past Norwich City in the EFL Cup. He scored a brace as Klopp brought in his second team, who put in an impressive performance.

Liverpool is joint-top in the PL while Norwich City was at the bottom but such forms are out of the window in the EFL Cup.

Klopp uses this opportunity to play the fringe players and followed the same in this game.

There Was No Upset When Liverpool Faced Norwich City In The EFL Cup

Klopp’s depth was often considered to be quite poor but they show their class in this game and eased past Daniel Farke’s Norwich. Farke had chosen to go for some rotation but it did not help him much as the Red was encouraged by the opportunity and won the game.

There were small things that we spotted in the game and they are as follows.

Takumi Minamino was the top scorer in the pre-season for Liverpool but did not get a chance to build on that form. He did not take long to seize his opportunity and slid the ball past Angus Gunn. This had shown Klopp that Minamino can be a proper backup for Salah and Mane. He had silenced all his hater by scoring another goal which was excellently placed.

Caoimhín Kelleher made a fine save to keep Liverpool’s lead before half-time. He made the save on a penalty kick after he fumbled a long-range shot and forced Bradley to make a reckless challenge. His sweeping was quite impressive and he looked comfortable playing with his feet, outside the box.

Konate had impressed Klopp and he has just found out his replacement for Matip. He seems to have the desire to play from the back just like Matip and can keep the side on the front foot.

Origi had also played his part and offered a suggestion that he can be an effective player for The Reds.
