In the newest Batman trailer, Bruce Wayne (Batman), played by Twilight actor, Robert Pattinson, needs to face a menacing serial killer. He also has to come to terms with his family’s alleged links to crime in Gotham.
Batman And Catwoman’s Flirty Banter
We also get a sneak peek of the encounters between Batman and Catwoman (Selina Kyle) played by Zoë which are heavily laced with flirtations.
In one of their scenes, while throwing punches at each other, Catwoman quips that the name ‘The Cat and the Bat’ has a certain appeal to it. The trailer has been named the same.
Matt Reeves, the director of the movie, said that the movie follows the journey of Batman in nabbing a serial killer who is wreaking havoc on Gotham. The serial killer or the Riddler is seen leaving obscure riddles for Batman in the trailer. The deep-seated lawlessness in Gotham is unmasked and Bruce is shown struggling to face his family’s supposed connection to it.
The original villains – Penguin, Catwoman, and the Riddler are all seen in their nascent stage in this movie before developing into hardcore antagonists. Alfred Hitchcock has been credited for being a big influence in the direction and overall cinematography of the movie. Other classics like Chinatown have also been accredited for influencing the style of the movie.
At DC FanDome last year the initial glimpse of the movie was dropped. During the CinemaCon panel in August this year, new footage was shown. The initial full-fledged trailer was released in October. It was filled with fast, adrenaline-pumping action scenes and also our first introduction to the Riddler.
