Halle Bailey Is Grateful To The Beautiful Black Women Pioneers

Halle Bailey

Halle Bailey’s performance in “The Little Mermaid” was “inspired” by Brandy. The 23-year-old actress was inspired by pop star Brandy. Brandy made history in 1997. She is “really grateful.” All because of the women who came before her.

I adored Brandy’s portrayal of Cinderella; she was incredible, such a role model and motivation, and a huge source of inspiration for me as I took on the role of Ariel.

“I had forgotten how amazing she seemed in that role and how at ease she was in her skin and how important to audiences and little girls including me who watched it,” Halle Bailey said to ECanda. Additionally, Anika Noni Rose is simply fantastic. “I got to meet her, and we got to sing ‘Almost There’ from ‘The Princess and the Frog’ together for [2022’s ‘Disney Family Singalong’] with my sister. She was incredibly sweet all the time! To be able to say, “OK, I can do this,” I needed to see those stunning black women pioneers who had gone before me.

Halle Bailey Is Grateful That She Got The Opportunity To Portray Ariel

Halle Bailey continued by saying that seeing children’s reactions has been a “beautiful moment” for her since it makes her remember how she used to feel as a small child.

The ability to witness the babies’ emotions, according to Halle, was “such a beautiful moment for me. I’m just so moved that I start crying as soon as I watch them.” Sincerely, I consider the little girl who is still inside of me, and watching them feel like they have representation, someone to look up to, and the realization that they too deserve to be in those places heals that child. It’s quite significant.
