Then it was directly on to the category that Smith might otherwise have presented. But for Oacars 2023, there was a problem: Smith, who won last year for King Richard, was banned from the show for a decade after slapping Chris Rock onstage over a joke he made about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith.
