Julianne Hough Replacing Tyra Banks As Dancing With The Star’s Co-Host

Julianne Hough

Julianne Hough is getting even deeper into the ‘dancing with the stars’ family. It was announced Monday that she will be replacing Tyra Banks as co-host for Season 32. Hough will co-host alongside Alfonso Ribeiro. Carrie Ann Inaba, Bruno Tonioli, and Derek Hough, a former professional dancer on the show and Julianne Hough’s brother, will return as judges. The news comes after Tyra Banks announced last week that she was ready to exit her gig as co-host of the reality dance competition. She left in 2009 to pursue other projects but has appeared on ‘DWTS’ over the years as a guest host.

America’s Next Top Model creator and the host told TMZ she wanted to focus on her business ventures. She felt it was time for her to really focus on her business and her entrepreneurship and also produce more TV behind the scenes. Banks said she thinks it’s time to graduate from the dance floor to the stock market floor. Most recently she made her Broadway debut playing Dusty in the Tony-nominated political farce.

Julianne Hough Quick-Steps Back To Dancing With The Stars

Bergeron’s and Andrew’s departures marked the beginning of a wave of change for DWTS, which moved from ABC to Disney+ last season. Ribeiro, the actor, and season-19 winner joined Banks as a co-host last season and will continue with Julianne Hough. Also departing at the end of season 31 was the original judge and favorite curmudgeon Len Goodman.

Like her brother Hough was a former professional dancer on the show, having joined in 2007 and winning two seasons. But Hough will still see a few familiar faces when she gets back to the ballroom-including her brother, Derek. Let the sibling ribbing begin.
