Kevin McCarthy has the dubious distinction of being the first House Speaker to be dumped by his party men. Given how the California Republican’s tenure began, it is not much of a shock. In January 2023 Kevin McCarthy required 15 ballots to win his position. That was more than what any House Speaker required going back even before the American Civil War.

Kevin McCarthy sought to draw a line between the American Senate and the House of Representatives. He equated the former to a country club, with a few exclusive members. The House, on the other hand, was like breakfast at a truck stop, he said. It is s microcosm of society and like a real society, it is a mix of both the good and the bad, he said.

The former House speaker has now sought to reiterate his support for Trump in the 2024 presidential election. McCarthy was pushed out by Trump supporters. But in an about turn, he has expressed his loyalty to Trump in the hope of joining his cabinet if he returns in 2024.

Kevin McCarthy Willing To Be Part Of Trump Cabinet: “In The Right Position”

During his tenure as the House leader Kevin McCarthy refused to formally endorse the former president’s campaign for the 2024 elections. But the representative from California has been on the whole supportive of the disgraced Republican leaderIn an about turn, Kevin McCarthy was on CBS to declare that he supported Trump’s bid to become the president for a second time. He declared that he would support President Trump while deliberating on his plans.

When asked if he would join Trump’s cabinet, Kevin McCarthy promptly answered in the affirmative. He replied that if the position was right, he was the right man for the job. He says he worked with Trump to win the House for the Republicans after the 2022 midterms. Kevin McCarthy said that he shared a relationship with Trump where they were honest with one another.
