Fans of the Golden State Warriors saw something unusual earlier in the week: a furious Klay Thompson. In their loss against the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday, the normally placid Splash Brother became emotional during a heated exchange with Devin Booker that ultimately resulted in his ejection.
When Klay Thompson approached the microphone for their subsequent postgame press conference following Thursday’s game even against Miami Heat, everybody knew the issue was going to be asked even though he didn’t talk to the media before the game.
Klay Thompson admitted that it was one of those very first ejections he had in his otherwise long career. He said he obviously was not planning about it but yet it happened. He said that sometimes the emotions get the better of us. He said that it is hilarious as he loves to compete and he also has a ton of respect for Devin.
His immediate thoughts were in line with Devin Booker’s comments following their viral exchange, showing only respect towards his teammate shooting guard. Hours after sharing frank remarks, Book said, “I love Klay Thompson.” Thompson discussed a specific incident from years ago that deepened their relationship beyond a single on-court confrontation.
Klay Thompson Breaking His Silence About Last Fight:
Klay continued to say that he had a lot of respect for him and it was amazing for him when Klay Thompson realized he has texted the fighter. He told that he was the first few people who has texted him during his injury when Klay Thompson tore his Achilles.
The rivalry between the two Conference All-Stars is still very much present on the floor. However, the respect for one another goes beyond basketball.
