With his latest hairstyle, LeBron James almost ignited the internet. The Lakers player posted a picture of himself with a totally shaven head on his Instagram account on Tuesday. James, who will turn 38, is shown in the photo with glee on his face while seated and carrying a barber’s wrap cloth. Nick Castellanos, LeBron’s personal barber, also can be seen in the image.
Along with other laughter emojis, the NBA champion also added a grandfather emoji to the picture. Even though James appeared to have shaved his head, some internet users called him out. Critics from all over social media have also questioned if the image has been filtered or edited.
A New LeBron James?
Evan Turner, the former NBA guard, was also reluctant to accept the rumors that James might go bald. Turner tweeted on Tuesday questioning if LeBron going bald was actually true.
LeBron James has been seen chuckling at hairline jokes for years now. He made fun of his thinning hair and compared it to a half Reese’s Butter Cup in August 2020. He posted an image of the back of his head, with also a Reese’s cup with the center missed to his Instagram story at the time. He referred to the meme as “one of the funniest ones he’s seen. Last year, James was said to be “wearing the largest headband in the world to cover up that bald area,” according to “Inside the NBA” co-host Charles Barkley.
Throughout the offseason, LeBron James has kept the crowds amused. The Lakers legend and his family were highlighted in Vanity Fair last week, which featured images clicked in his Los Angeles estate. James and Savannah, his wife, sat for their family photo shoot with their children: daughter Zhuri and boys Bronny and Bryce.
On Tuesday, during his practice session at the Summit New York gym with Chris Brickley, the NBA skills coach, he appeared to cover his head with a black tight cloth.
