Linda Thomas-Greenfield’s Faith In The American Democracy
Linda Thomas-Greenfield was asked about the answer she owned to the allies of her country in the international organization. She was asked about her answer she would give regarding the concerns of the allies that generated following the Capitol riot. The ambassador, in her statement, left a reason to be proud of the country.
Linda Thomas-Greenfield replied that whatever took place was equally painful to her as a citizen. However, what followed was something to be proud of. She said that the Senate did not let the riot stop them from carrying out their responsibilities.
The ambassador further added that the Senate fulfilled their respective business after the violent Capitol riot got over. And this is something to be proud of.
The Electoral Colleges vote counting by the US Congress could not be carried out for over five hours. All of the lawmakers had been locked-down by the rioters who were faithful towards the former president, Donald Trump. They had taken over the Capitol police as well.
Even after all this, the lawmakers made a vow. They claimed that they would complete whatever they had gathered for. And they did so. The Senate restarted even after 8 at night on the same day. They reconvened after about 6 hours of the halt. The number of people arrested by the prosecutors for the attack has crossed 300.
