Lionel Messi, the Argentinian Captain has made his choice of the top teams very clear. He believes that both, Brazil and France have experienced players so their chances of winning the Cup are very high.

Countdown To The World Cup Begins: Lionel Messi

The 2022 World Cup commences from Nov. 20 to Dec 18 in Qatar at the Al Bayt Stadium, when the hosts take on Ecuador in Group A.

Lionel Messi, 35, plays as a forward for Ligue 1 Club, Paris Saint-German and captains his national team Argentina. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest players of all time.

England, Spain, France, Brazil, and Germany are always the people’s pick for the top spot but Lionel feels Brazil and France stand a better chance. The players in both teams are not only talented but also have great team spirit. Their coaches Tite (Brazil) and Didier Deschamps (France) have taken their respective teams from strength to strength.

The Argentinian team on the other hand has its own faithful followers but their Coach Lionel Scaloni is a very worried man. The two key players, Angel di Maria and Paulo Dybala are both injured and are recuperating.

Lionel Messi is hoping against hope to play his first World Cup in what will be his last. Argentina has not won since Diego Maradona inspired them in 1986. The Cup has since then eluded them. In 2014 Messi’s best efforts were able to take his team to the finals but sadly they lost to Germany.

On Nov 22 Argentina will play its first match in Group C against Saudi Arabia. They had defeated UAE before being qualified for the World Cup. Poland and Mexico are the other two teams in their group.

Lionel Messi needs all the luck he can get to steer his team to victory.
