Jurgen Klopp’s side just can’t seem to be able to catch a break at Anfield. Liverpool slumped to a sixth consecutive defeat at home, at the hands of Fulham. Fulham is fighting to stay out of the relegation zone. The goal was a result of a mistake made by Mohammed Salah. The Liverpool star is just not being able to do enough as his team struggles to cope with the long list of injuries.

From Bad To Worse For Liverpool

The result also means that Liverpool has not scored a single goal at Anfield since their defeat to league leader Manchester City, last month. Klopp rued the fact that it was a game of missed chances while praising his squad on their determination to keep trying. He said that the lack of form in the season so far is continuing to haunt their performances.

The manager had made seven changes to the starting lineup in preparation for their Champions’ League match against RB Leipzig.

Fulham had largely looked the better side in the tie. They had the first real chance of the game at the half-hour mark, but Alisson managed to keep out Josh Maja’s effort from close range. The goal came in the last few moments of the first half, as Mario Lemina dispossessed Salah to strike it home.

In the second half, Liverpool almost immediately equalized but the Fulham keeper Areola had other plans. The consistent pressure from the red side, however, failed to produce any goals with Mane’s 70th-minute  header beating the keeper but hitting the crossbar.

Fulham manager Scott Parker was elated with the result and hoped that the tides have finally turned for his squad.
