Quite a bit of Jersey City is without water Tuesday evening after a 36-inch mains was broken close to the Charlotte Circle.
Suez Water said via social media at 3:50 p.m. that the contractual worker in Kearny was leading non-utility work on Route 7 and hit the central conduit that takes care of Jersey City.
“SUEZ crews are en route to isolate break and make emergency repairs,” the consultative stated.
The water organization didn’t give a timetable to when fixes would be finished.

Most of Jersey City is reporting water outages at this time. This is due to a State of NJ construction project where one of their crews ruptured one of our main lines (36inch). This is a main #JerseyCity line. We’re mobilizing crews to fix it. RT 7 approaching Charlotte Circle pic.twitter.com/FBZySM4p87
