As the death count crossed 270 in Texas, USA, actor Matthew McConaughey, and his wife, Camila Alves McConaughey extended their helping hands to support the first responders in their native state.
They are set on a mission to donate 80,000 masks to the departments of health workers, fire-fighters, and police officers across Louisiana and Texas, within the next few days. Texas is already reporting 13,500 confirmed cases of infected.
The fire-fighters of Austin Fire Department expressed their gratitude through a tweet that said: “The C-shift at Station 32 got a surprise yesterday when @McConaughey and @iamcamilaalves stopped by to let us know we’re getting several 1,000 N-95 masks soon, part of their donation…”
As reported by KEYE, on Friday the couple did drop some masks at the Austin Fire Department.
Camila, a model and designer, tweeted that “Our mission is to protect those who protect us” at home-town, in the neighboring states and if possible, on a nationwide level.
She hopes that it will inspire the others also to stay strong and choose their own way of extending help.
