Saturday was an enjoyable day out for Tom Cruise with his costars from Mission: Impossible. The 59-year-old actor was in attendance for the finals of the women’s singles at Wimbledon. He was accompanying Pom Klementieff and Haley Atwell.
The First Outing For Tom Cruise Since Production Was Suspended
The trio saw Ashleigh Barty, the Australian, face off against Karolina Pliskova, from the Czech Republic. Barty went on to be the champion. Wimbledon’s official account on Twitter also posted a couple of enjoyable videos to honor Tom Cruise. He was dressed in a sharp and clean blue suit on the day.
The account joked that even though Karolina Pliskova was trailing by a set, it still was not mission impossible. Along with that, a picture of the trio was posted. The second video showed Tom Cruise waving at the fans present.
The outing was the first time in a month for Tom Cruise after the film’s production had to be suspended briefly. Someone on the set had tested positive for Covid-19. A spokesperson from the studio had informed that the Mission: Impossible 7 production was temporarily halted until 14th June.
Some months earlier, Tom Cruise was heard harshly rebuking members of the crew near on a leaked audio recording near the end of last year. The action sequel with a big budget had to be halted prior to that as well in 2020 February in Italy when the pandemic had just started. However, in October, in Rome, it had resumed.
In a May interview, Tom Cruise admitted to speaking harshly saying that the situation was tense with many things at stake. He explained that he was worried about the industry and his coworkers as well. So when the production began, it came as a big relief for him.
