Travis Scott Shows His Philanthropic Side By Helping HBCU Students

Travis Scott is a famous rapper and is mostly known for a series of trendy hip-hop hits including ‘Highest in Room’ and ‘Sicko Mode’. Travis Scott has also successfully managed to deliver wild concerts.

However recently he has decided to show his philanthropic nature. In October 2020, Travis Scott had tweeted that he will be paying the tuition fee for one semester to 5 students. He further stated that the 5 students must be studying in historically Black institutions.

Philanthropic Nature Of Travis Scott

After announcing to pay one-semester tuition for 5 students, Travis Scott chose a few of the students with the help of social media. In order to take this decision full-fledged, he launched a charitable foundation named Cactus Jack.

This foundation had collaborated with his own hometown in Houston. They delivered free meals to 50,000 residents in the winters of last February. This commendable effort from Jacques Webster which is his real name was honored as a cultural figure. Red Carpet Advocacy (RAD) honored him for his inspiring work along with Margot Robbie, Charlize Theron, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, and Laverne Cox.

RAD partnered with Amazon Luxury Stores to underwrite donations for 5 charities conducted by celebrities. The foundation of Scott has been selected to receive Amazon contributions. Scott decided to use this funding to give scholarships to HBCU students.

This Grammy-nominated rapper informed that he has a strong desire for education. This was inspired by his grandparents and father who taught and studied, respectively, at Prairie View A & M. The fact that he could not complete his education has left a void and regret in his life. As a result, he decided to leave behind a legacy inspired by his grandparents and parents to encourage equitable education opportunities.
