President Donald Trump has said he “can’t imagine why” US hotline calls about disinfectants have increased after he recommended injecting the disinfectants to treat coronavirus.
Mr. Trump said that he was saying this sarcastically after he received heavy criticism.
Disinfectants are extremely dangerous and can be toxic if ingested.
During the conference about coronavirus on Monday, a reporter addressed that the emergency hotline of the state of Maryland had got so many calls in recent days seeking guidance about Mr. Trump’s comments.
“I can’t imagine why, I can’t imagine that.” Mr. Trump stated.
A week ago, the Maryland representative’s office stated that it had given a statewide alarm cautioning against injecting or taking disinfectants after the president’s comments.
Mr. Trump said what he said about the disinfectant on Thursday after an authority introduced the consequences of the US government look into that indicated coronavirus could be killed in minutes by bleach and disinfectants.
“I see the disinfectant where it knocks it out in a minute. One minute,” Mr. Trump stated. “And is there a way we can do something like that, by injection inside or almost a cleaning?”
Mr. Trump stated: “I was asking a question sarcastically to reporters like you just to see what would happen.”
During Monday’s Rose Garden conference, Mr. Trump was asked if he would postpone the presidential election in November.
“I never even thought of changing the date of the election,” he stated. “Why would I do that?”
Previous US Vice-President Joe Biden, Mr. Trump’s possible Democratic adversary, stated a week ago he thought Mr. Trump would “try to kick back the election somehow”.
But Mr. Trump told reporters the idea was “made-up propaganda”.
“I look forward to that election,” Mr. Trump stated.
Researchers have just noticed that if a president needed to change the planning of a White House political decision he would be not able to do as such – even in a crisis – on the grounds that the date is set by Congress.
A reporter also asked Mr. Trump whether a president who has lost a larger number of Americans more than about a month and a half than passed away during the two many years of the Vietnam war had the right to be re-elected.
He stated that his government had made an “unbelievable” work.
The confirmed total number of coronavirus cases in America is almost at one million. There have been more than 55,000 deaths so far.
