The US Open 2021 first-round has almost been completed. As such, the top ten feature several star golfers. This includes Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, and Xander Schauffele among the top favorites who are still in with a chance after the starting eighteen holes of Torrey Pines. The action, however, could not be completed on Thursday.

What Else Remains In Day 1 Of The US Open?

None of the favorites who are in the running are at the top of the table after the first day in the US Open. A surprise performance from.  two tricenarians saw them running the show in the first round.

Russell Henley, who is now 32, is among the two tied at the top who currently completed the 18 holes with a 67 which is 4 below par. It has been a fantastic start to his week in the US Open. This is also Henley’s best score since 2018 in any Majors. This was also the last US Open he had played in. He played his round without being shaken and made heavy use of the putter to get his score.

Louis Oosthuizen is the other person at the top who is also currently 4 below par. However, he has only played sixteen holes as it became too dark on Thursday to continue play. The leaderboard lists both of them as T1. Bryson DeChambeau, the reigning champion, failed to perform in the same way as the older golfers. His starting nine scores put him at 1 over par. Then, he ruined every chance of catching up by shooting three bogeys back-to-back for the last nine holes. His score is currently 73, which is 2 above par and is currently ranked T61. Brook Koepka, however, scored 69 which is 2 below par and is still in the hunt for his 3rd US Open within 5 years.
