The lady of the times, Zendaya, has put her own twist on a vintage gown from Valentino on the virtual red carpet for the second season of Euphoria. The 25-year-old actress, and Law Roach, her longtime fashion architect decided to bring out a black-and-white, vertically striped Valentino gown from the collection of 1992 straight from the archives in order to celebrate this special occasion.
The design had first made headlines on the catwalk, when it was modeled by supermodel Linda Evangelista, during the Spring/Summer show of this Italian fashion house.
Euphoria Premiere Sees Zendaya Bringing In the 90s
While Evangelista had a color-blocked look finished with a chunky black and white cuff bracelet and matching striped drop earrings, Zendaya went for a much more minimal approach in her design for the premiere of Euphoria, three decades after it was worn for the first time. The actress decided to add in a subtle touch of sparkle with diamond drop earrings from Bulgari Serpenti Viper, along with a yellow diamond ring from Bulgari with a center stone that weighed in at around eight carats.
Incidentally, the premiere of Euphoria wasn’t the only time Zendaya had managed to rock a design that was previously worn by a famous woman. At the BET Awards in 2021, the star made a Bey-utiful entrance in a lengthy version of the Versace dress that Beyonce had worn for her iconic 2003 BET awards performance of Crazy in Love. Back then Beyonce, just 22, had famously worn a mini version of the Versace runway fave to hit the stage with her then-boyfriend Jay-Z.
The star of Euphoria, The Greatest Showman, Dune, and the Spiderman franchise has been constantly pushing the boundaries with her fashion choices this year. And we are definitely not complaining!
