Residents of Los Angeles County have 11 days to apply for a direct stimulus check worth $ 1,000. This stimulus check which will be provided on a monthly basis is under a program of guaranteed income known as Breathe. This program will be selecting 200 eligible applicants who were formerly children in foster care. This program upon selection, will be providing the applicants with stimulus payments for a course of 2 years. Applicants have from June 20 to 11:59 pm July 3 to apply for the payment.
Breathe had selected around 1,000 eligible applicants in 2022, who were provided $ 1,000 per month for a duration of 3 years. This year, as stated by a spokesperson for Breathe in the Washington Post, the program will be taking 200 more such applicants for the stimulus check.
To qualify the criteria of eligibility, applicants must be from a household with a filial income below or at 100%, and for a single-member household, a filial income below or at 120% of the income median of the area. Other requirements include, the applicant should be at least 21 years of age and have not turned 24 years of age before September 1. The recipient must certainly have been under the care of the Department of Children and Families of Los Angeles County at the time they became adults.
Stimulus Check Recipients Must Participate In Research For The University of Pennsylvania
The recipients of this stimulus check will be participating in a research study by the University of Pennsylvania along with other organizations. This study will focus on understanding the benefits of the stimulus check provided by Breathe and how it is affecting the welfare of the recipients. Participants will be provided with a $ 30 gift card upon the completion of a survey.
