Donald Trump Frowns As He Hears Indictment Accusations

Former US President Donald Trump, who was indicted last week on the grounds of holding classified government documents at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida, after leaving the office of president at the end of his tenure. Donald Trump on June 8 was indicted by a jury and was asked to appear at a courthouse in Miami. On June 13, Trump along with his team of attorneys, appeared at the Miami court for the hearing. According to eyewitnesses, Trump sat in the court with a slight frown on his face as he faced the charges brought by the prosecution. 

Trump was processed by the US Marshal just like any other ordinary defendant. His fingerprints were taken, and his date of birth and address were recorded. However, no mugshot of the former president was taken, as Trump is a well-known figure, officials found it unnecessary to take a photograph of him. Judge Jonathan Goodman, presided over the proceedings, as Trump sat silent hearing the charges. Trump had arrived with Waltine Nauta who has faced similar accusations as Trump. In the courtroom, neither Trump nor Nauta spoke with each other. Todd Blanche, an attorney for Trump, entered a plea on behalf of Trump as not guilty of the charges.

Mike Pence, former Vice President of the US, in a speech from Des Moines, Iowa, discredited Donald Trump for the Capitol Hill riot of January 6 of 2021. Pence also stated that there must be a much-needed change in the leadership of America as well as the leadership of the Republican Party. Mike Pence has declared his candidacy for the upcoming US Presidential elections in 2024. While the indictment and the lawsuits including the E. Jean Carroll case for which Trump was found guilty is not serving him well in his campaign as he is running for his second presidency in 2024.
