In his most recent article on Kevin Durant’s predicament in Brooklyn, Shams Charania of The Athletic said that the star forward had issued a request to the Nets. Either the team could trade the two-time Finals MVP, or head coach Steve Nash and general manager Sean Marks would be relieved of their jobs.
Another aspect of Charania’s tale appears to have been forgotten as the Nets now find themselves in an even more challenging predicament. The insider previously listed the Golden State Warriors, Phoenix Suns, Toronto Raptors, and Miami Heat as being in the lead for the Durant sweepstakes, but just three teams were named in his most recent post.
Charania also said that the Toronto Raptors, the Celtics, and the Miami Heat are some of the significant candidates to get Kevin Durant to their team. According to Charania, many sources have also confirmed that Boston’s constant approach to bag forward Jaylen Brown is now an achievable dream.

The absence of Golden State and Phoenix confirms that Durant will remain in the Eastern Conference, even though Boston’s participation is no longer news. Even though it was never probable that the Suns or Warriors would acquire the assets once Ayton signed his offer sheet and the Warriors appeared to have little interest, the fact that neither team is now considered a contender to sign Kevin Durant is still noteworthy.
