American Actress Melissa McCarthy, in an interview recently with Entertainment Weekly, recalled her character Sookie St. James from the American comedy-drama series Gilmore Girls. In the interview, Melissa McCarthy stated where Sookie would be now, indicating her fondness for the character. Gilmore Girls, which was first released on October 5, 2000, continued for 7 seasons before ending on May 15 of 2007. Melissa’s character Sookie is Lorelai Gilmore’s best friend and chef. Lorelai is played by Lauren Graham. The cast of Gilmore Girls has a long list of eminent actors and actresses, like Milo Ventimiglia, Jared Padalecki, Sean Gunn, and Liza Weil, among others.
According to Melissa McCarthy, Sookie would continue doing what she enjoys, with her husband Jackson Belleville, and perhaps do some marijuana. Melissa also added that she thinks Sookie still cooks, but she hopes Sookie cooks edibles. She also added that she thinks Sookie and Jackson are really good parents with their 13 children.
Melissa McCarthy Does Not Enjoy Rewatching The Gilmore Girls
Melissa McCarthy has revealed in an interview with Today, that she does not enjoy rewatching Gilmore Girls. She said that she and her elder daughter Vivian Falcone had started watching the series. However, it only made Melissa conscious. She stated that she is always afraid that she is going to be found watching her own series in a room.
That is why she is paranoid and cannot watch her own series or other movies when she is at home. She jokingly said that in case she passes out and the paramedics arrive to find her watching her own movies. It is what she thinks every time she and her series airs on television. Gilmore Girls had a revival miniseries in 2016 with Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life, released on Netflix on November 25.
