The senators belonging to the Democratic party condemned the sexual harassment that is associated with the governor of New York, Andrew Cuomo. A total of three women came forth to make the accusation. The senators even went on to give it a few terms like “troubling” and “disturbing.”

Nevertheless, nothing has been said of the resignation of the accused. No politicians belonging to the Democratic party have mentioned anything concerning the matter. The only statement that has been received until now is that they have full faith over the attorney general of the state of New York.

This statement comes following the news that the investigation related to the accusations made on Andrew Cuomo. It will be carried out by Letitia James, the New York Attorney General.

Is Andrew Cuomo Being Favoured?

There is a difference in the approach of the Democratic senators with regard to the case of Andrew Cuomo. The careers of several politicians belonging to both the Democratic as well as the Republican parties ended in the year 2017. A majority of them were from Congress.

The reason for this was the popular “#MeeToo” movement. The movement took place during the time of the election of the former president of the United States of America, Donald Trump.

This was the time when the Democratic party displayed their system of having zero tolerance towards sexual harassment. Owing to this policy, Al Franken, the Democratic senator, gave his resignation. This was because he was at the centre of the sexual accusations made by a total of seven women.

As per the accusers, the senator was guilty of making inappropriate advancements physically. However, Andrew Cuomo is facing a very different treatment than Senator Franklin even though there is no difference in the situation. It is not a hidden fact that the 63-year-old Senator is has a high chance of running for office. And also, that he is a very well-known politician.
