Last month, Antony Blinken traveled for two days to Beijing to meet with Chinese officials to mend top-level connections.   

In an effort to foster dialogue outside of regional diplomatic gatherings in Indonesia, whose president on Friday urged competing nations to avoid turning the area into a “competition arena,” U.S.   

Blinken met with Wang in Jakarta “to advance U.S. values and goals and to directly raise issues shared by America and its partners and allies regarding PRC actions,” Miller stated.

The three visited Indonesian President Joko Widodo on Friday along with other foreign ministers from Western and Asian nations whose nations frequently interact with ASEAN. Widodo gave the group a tough speech.

Lavrov told reporters Thursday in Jakarta that he had highlighted to Wang and other of his ASEAN counterparts that Russia and China “respect the principles” of ASEAN’s leadership in the area. Antony Blinken expressed worries about suspected Chinese cybersecurity risks during their second meeting in less than a month after Microsoft said Chinese state-backed hackers had compromised email accounts of US federal organizations.

According to a statement released on Friday by the Chinese foreign ministry, Wang reminded Blinken that Washington “needs to take a rational and practical approach, work with China in the same direction.”

To quit “interfering” in China’s affairs, Antony Blinken pleaded with the US. Wang stressed China’s firm stance on the Taiwan issue and asked the US to refrain from willfully meddling in Chinese internal affairs, according to the ministry. Taiwan is viewed by China as a part of its land.
