Saquon Barkley’s Contract Still Being Reviewed

Saquon Barkley

Prior to applying the franchise tag, the Giants reportedly offered Barkley $13 million annually, according to PFT on Wednesday. We noted that Barkley requested $16 million annually.

Since then, Barkley has said that this is untrue. However, the figures are plausible.

It also seems a bit hollow for Barkley to tweet a pair of cap emojis if he’s not also prepared, to tell the truth, given he surely knows it, even though he is under no responsibility to divulge what he was offered or what he asked.

Saquon Barkley Is Still Adding To His Contract

Running back Saquon Barkley of the Giants changed his marketing rep from Roc Nation to CAA five years ago. Now that his football deal is being discussed, CAA is too.

According to NFLPA records, Barkley is presently represented by Ed Perry of CAA and Kim Miale of Roc Nation.

The modification shows that Barkley was not entirely happy with the assistance he was receiving. He did not, however, fire Roc Nation due to his dissatisfaction. The team conveyed in its offer that it would withdraw it if the franchise tag was used, even though it was made before the deadline for doing so. Barkley, though, used social media to refute the offer from New York after that news was published.

Only 2 other running backs presently average more than $14 million annually. Alvin Kamara of the Saints and Christian McCaffrey of the 49ers. The Giants veteran, who totaled 1,650 yards from scrimmage in a 2022 resurgence, had been hindered by injury for a large portion of the previous 2 seasons.
