Recently Apple has started rolling out the much-awaited iOS 14.5 as well as the iPad iOS 14.5 updates. This brings a range of new features along with major improvements to iPhones and iPads.

This giant firm has finally decided of letting the users access many much-talked-about features.

New Features In The All-New iOS 14.5

With this new iOS 14.5 update, Apple offers the users the access to decide if they want 3rd party apps and websites in order to track their activities for advertising purposes. There is a new pop-up that will be appearing when the apps are designed to share the activity for targeted advertising.

This new feature has been heavily criticized by Facebook who has claimed that it gives a false trade-off between privacy and personalized ads. This feature is said to have a detrimental impact on Facebook ad business.

In addition, iOS 14.5 also brings a feature to unlock the iPhone without the need for a Face ID or a password. However, there is a catch here. The user must be wearing an Apple Watch while unlocking it. This will be helpful for the people who struggle to unlock their iPhones during the time they are wearing masks owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. This feature makes it faster to unlock it as well.

iOS 14.5 update also offers a virtual assistant named Siri. So far the virtual assistant was a default female voice. However, this update will allow preferred setup.

Apple is also bringing new emojis directed towards inclusivity. Users will also get Fitness Plus streaming during their workout with the use of AirPlay 2. Furthermore, the Apple Podcast application is getting a new design as well as optional subscriptions.
