Ariana Grande Texted By Blake Shelton Over Voice Rumors

Blake Shelton doesn’t seem too happy with Ariana Grande, his fellow co-star of The Voice, as it might be a reason for his removal. Incidentally, the country singer, 45, recently sent Grande a link to an article that posited that she was the reason why the hit reality singing competition was looking to replace him as coach in the next few seasons.

Blake then added to the tweet by sardonically thanking the young pop star, which was then screengrabbed by Grande and shared at the end of a photo dump on Instagram Friday night.

Ariana Grande Turning Into a Face for The Voice?

The article that Blake Shelton produces claims that the producers of the Voice were looking for younger and trendier judges, as the popularity of Ariana Grande brought a far younger audience to the competition.

And yet, it does feel like Shelton’s texts to the young pop star were taken in jest, as she heart reacted to both the messages before putting them out on Instagram for everyone to see. Nevertheless, the pop star could definitely not let this joke slide, as she threw her own shade at the country singer by sharing an edited clip from Mean Girls on her Instagram.

The clip from Ariana Grande showed Regina George- played by Rachel McAdams, where she wrote about herself in the Burn book- but in place of pasting her own pictures to the page, the pop star edited it to look like she was posting a picture of Shelton. John Legend, another coach on The Voice, found this hilarious as he commented on her post.

Ariana Grande has already lifted the TRPs of the show in her first year as a judge. She also made several bold moves– like one where she and Legend walked off the set after Blake and Kelly Clarkson were trying to cajole a contestant to join their team- but never let Grande and Legend talk.
