The ones who are sued by him are Donald Trump, the former President of the United States of America and Rudy Giuliani, the attorney and the former mayor of the New York City. Bennie Thompson Holds Trump Responsible

The lawsuit of the Rep. was filed by the National Association of Colored People (NAACP), an organization for civil rights, and the law firm for civil rights, the Cohen Milstein Sellers & Toll. The accusation made against Donald Trump and the others is of violating the “Ku Klux Klan Act” of 1871.

They did so by preventing the peaceful execution of the official certification of the vote count by Congress. This was done by the rioters who broke into the Capitol building where the ceremony took place. The law is an important part of the Enforcement Act series. It was also introduced for the protection of the Black community from getting violated.

This lawsuit, filed by Bennie Thompson, is the first legal case made against Donald Trump post his acquittal by the Senate. It was the second impeachment trial of his. A total of seven members from the Republican party made their vote for the conviction of the former US President. They did so after breaking ties with him. However, he got acquitted due to a shortfall in the total number of votes.

The lawsuit filed by Bennie Thompson is done in the District Court of the United States which is in Washington D.C.
